I have had my best luck fishing small mouth where there are large underwater boulders. Use a plastic crawdad rigged like a plastic worm. Slowly walk it around the boulders. Lift it and let it settle back to the bottom. Most likely you’ll get hits as it floats back down. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
